Catulpa Community Support Services offers MotherCare, Baby Steps, Next Step, and CAPC programs. These free programs are available to individuals and families who are pregnant and/or parenting children 0- 6 years of age and who are living on a limited annual household income (less than $40,000 before taxes) in Simcoe County.
The Simcoe County Community Action Program for Children (CAPC) is part of a national program that has been supporting young parents, families, and Newcomers to Canada for over 25 years. The CAPC and CPNP programs hosted by Catulpa Community Support Services aim to promote the healthy development of young children from birth to age 6 and support healthy pregnancies and parents/caregivers.
MotherCare Program - Offered Virtually and In-person
MotherCare is a free weekly program offered to pregnant individuals and is designed to promote healthy pregnancies in a friendly and supportive environment. This program gives participants the opportunity to discuss and receive information about nutrition and healthy eating during pregnancy, pre and postnatal health and wellness, breastfeeding, and newborn care and needs. Participants who attend programs will also have access to:
Baby Steps (NEW) - Offered Virtually
Baby Steps is a free weekly program for parents with children ages 0-12 months designed to support newborn nutrition, perinatal mental health, breastfeeding, infant development and bonding. This program gives participants the opportunity to discuss and receive a variety of resources to help support their child’s development as well as their parenting journey, including postnatal health and wellness, healthy eating, infant mental health, parenting education and support. Participants who attend programs may receive:
Next Step Program - Offered Virtually and In-person
The Next Step Program is a free weekly program offered to individuals with children 12 months - 36 months (3 years) of age and is designed to support a healthy start for kids. This program gives participants the opportunity to discuss and receive information about nutrition and healthy eating, infant mental health, community resources, child development, health and wellness, and parenting education and support. Participants who attend programs will also have access to:

CAPC programs are free and offered regularly to individuals and families with children 0 – 6 years of age and provide fun and inclusive activities to support healthy children and families. Activities relate to nutrition and meal preparation, mental and physical health, parenting and child development. CAPC programs also help parents recognize the needs of their children and can help connect them to resources to support those needs and promote school readiness and a healthy start in life.
